dog training, group classesObedience training is one of the most responsible things you can do for your dog. Our dogs depend on us completely, it is our responsability to proper teach them for them to be well adjusted companions.

We use several different types of training methods and tools depending on the individual dog's needs. We offer private in-home training and one-on-one service. We work with you and your dog at your home, in your neighborhood and will address any specific issues you may be currently experiencing.

Sessions are usually held once a week but intensive training is available depending on your dog's specific needs and/or your personal preference. The number of total lessons depends on each individual dog. Our training program requires the owner work with the dog at least 5-15 minutes every day to maintain a proper training relationship.

Puppy Obedience
"Click and Treat" Method
Introduction to: sit, stay, down, come, no, off, release command
Learning to use the leash and collar.
Dealing with manners and behavior:
* biting | * mouthing | * jumping up

Basic Obedience
The majority of training is done on-leash. At the end of this phase your dog will know Sit, Stay, Come, Heel, Down, Off, Leave it, and Place. Your dog will follow all these commands during distractions and without food bribes.

When in heel (walk next to me) your dog will happily pay attention to which directions you choose to walk and stay with you. During Basic dog obedience training you will never hit or yell at your dog. All corrections are done (sparingly) and copious amounts of praise and love will be used to reinforce wanted behavior.

A dog must be at least four months old to start this phase of training. If you cannot be present during regularly scheduled training sessions we will train your dog for you and make arrangements to teach you proper handling and management, later, at your convenience.

Group Classes
These classes are held once a week, free of charge, for our former clients. Pre-registration and attendance of orientation are required.

Behavior Modification, Problem Solving and Doggie Manners
Behavioral problems often cause an owner to feel they must give up their pet. We can help you manage and understand your dog's problem behavior as well as teach proper manners. Dogs need the proper guidance and relationship with their owners to achieve this.

Dog Aggression | Anxiety | Destructive Behavior | Dominance | Compulsive Barking | Housebreaking | Mounthing | Jumping up | No listening | Food Aggression | Chasing | Fear situations | Expecting baby

AKC Canine Good Citizen Training (CGC)
The AKC CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.

Training sessions focus on skills necessary to pass the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen®Test.  The sessions include the final testing evaluation necessary for the certification that the dog and owner have successfully passed the ten part test requirements.

Boot Camp - Board & Train
Doggy Boot Camp is a two-week boarding program. Two private follow-up classes are included after the completion of Boot Camp.
Most people who choose Doggy Boot Camp either have little time to train their dog, or are going away on vacation and want their dog trained when they return. Here's how it works.
Our Los Angeles area Doggy Boot Camp dog trainer will take the dog into his home for two weeks. The dog will be trained 2-3 times every day, in the home, outside, near shopping centers, around other dogs, squirrels, people, cars etc. We introduce the dog to as many different circumstances as possible.
Between dog training sessions, your dog will have playtime, snacks, and walks. When the dog is ready to return home, a dog trainer will give you the first follow up lesson at our location when you arrive to pick up your dog. We insists on the follow up training sessions to make the training long lasting and effective.
A dog must be at least four months old to start this phase of training. Basic training is on-leash.

We will customize a program to your needs!

*Heeling - next to you without pulling the leash and automatic sitting when you stop

*Sit stay/Down stay

*Come when called

*Off and release command

*Good manners
